Sallows Military Museum
is open daily Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 pm. The museum is located on the west side of
Central Park at 1104 Niobrara Avenue. There are picnic tables and benches available for your use while you visit us. The
Park contains many varieties of trees and plantings and a large fountain.
Carnegie Arts Center is a beautiful fine arts facility, situated in a lovingly restored former
Carnegie library building, built in 1911. The doors of the arts center opened in 1993, providing children and adults with a
variety of exhibits, workshops and special events. The Sculpture Garden opened on the west side of the Building in 2001 and
offers a pivotal place within the community for cultural, social and educational events. Carnegie Arts Center displays
nineteen exhibits a year, including the annual "Native American Art From Red Cloud" exhibit, the annual Anniversary
Show and numerous traveling shows. Galleries include the Marjorie Leu Skala Gallery, the Gretchen Garwood Gallery and the
Studio Gallery. An adjacent Gift Gallery offers treasures of original art, including blown glass, jewelry and pottery.
Carnegie Arts Center is dedicated to children and offers six youth workshops each year. These include an 8-week
"Adventures in Art" workshop. The art created by children in the "Adventures" workshops is framed
and displayed and a reception is held to honor the young fine arts enthusiasts. Special events presented by Carnegie Arts
Center include the Winter Gala, held each November as a launch for the holiday season and the Garden Walk, held each summer.
Other events include receptions for the artists and seasonal fun-filled fine arts field trips. Carnegie Arts Center's
galleries and Sculpture Garden are open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 am to 4 pm and Sundays 1 to 4 pm.
