in Box Butte County and is located 2½ miles north of Alliance on Highway 87. A replica of Stonehenge, Carhenge attracts about 80,000 visitors annually. A more traditional approach to art can be found at the Carnegie Arts Center, at Laramie and 4th Streets. Four galleries provide space for displays of artists from Nebraska and neighboring states.

unfolding its heritage. Continuing your trip through Western Nebraska heritage, you will be able to visit a turn of the century frontier town at Dobby Lee's Frontier Town

Knight Museum and Sandhills Center
- This brand new, modern facility which was re-opened in 2010, features five areas of history including life in the town and life in the country; Native American life; life in the Sandhills and information about the railroad and how it functioned in the formation of this area. The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center is also famous for its genealogy room dedicated to research and known for the broad range of records it houses, which are all available to the public. The Carnegie Arts Center
is a beautiful fine arts facility situated in the restored former Carnegie Library, built in 1911. Opened in 1993, it provides children and adults with a variety of exhibits, workshops and special events. A sculpture garden was also opened in 2001, and offers a place for social, cultural and educational events. 19 exhibits a year are displayed. Admission is free and Carnegie Arts Center is open to the public at 204 W. 4th Street in Alliance, on Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm and on Sundays from 1 to 4 pm.
