Chamber Committee Information

Committees are the lifeline of the Chamber. It is through the Chamber committees and volunteers that the Chamber is able to enact change and is able to help businesses and the community at large. All of the Chamber committees are open to any employee of any Chamber member. The meetings are always open to new members. For more information on any of the committees, contact the Chamber staff @ 308-762-1520.
Ag Committee: Organizes annual Farmer/Rancher Golf and Pitch Tournaments, travels to various agriculture related businesses in the region and provides educational and marketing seminars for local providers. Each fall the Ag Committee conducts a fundraiser to help establish funds for scholarships in ag-related fields. The Ag Committee meets the first Monday of every other month.
Ambassadors: Represents the Chamber at Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours, Open Houses, Spotlight Member Banner Deliveries and Visitations. Also volunteers at community events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Big Blue BBQ, Heritage Days Sunday in the Park and Operation Thank You. Ambassadors meet the last Wednesday of each month. During these meetings they visit area businesses to learn what services are provided. Members may also use their time to introduce themselves and share a little about their own business or organization.
Legislative: Meets as needed to promote the interests of Alliance and Box Butte County. Also hosts opportunities to personally meet with the representatives of the various levels of government as well as political forums near election times.
Heritage Days: The mission statement is: To plan and organize a community-wide celebration, Heritage Days, to help benefit retailers, gas stations, hotels, restaurants and any other businesses, and give the people of the community the chance to celebrate our Heritage.
Leadership Box Butte: Past LBB participants serve on the steering committee that develops a nine month training program to help develop the skills for future leaders in our county. The chamber also encourages people to participate in the class to learn about our area as well as form personal networks for future business and community endeavors.
Promotion: Educates the public on the merits of shopping locally and works with merchants on promotions that encompass the entire community. Works closely with other organizations such as Historic Main Street Alliance and helps promote Alliance High School student activities. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Education: A multi-faceted committee whose goal is to emphasize local opportunities to potential and present employees to grow educationally as well as professionally. The committee recognizes educational providers and all sponsors of the Committee's activities. Helps businesses recruit qualified employees, retain a work force and encourage entrepreneurs. Meets 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Fundraising: Meets as needed to help keep Chamber membership dues low by developing projects and activities that create non-dues income. This can be large or small activities. Monthly meetings are encouraged to develop new ideas and activities.
Cattle Capital Rodeo Committee: The Cattle Capital Rodeo Committee is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, more specifically to promote the sport of rodeo. Jay Johnson, Chairman jjohnson@farmersnational.com.
